Effective ministry requires rest
Pastors and ministry leaders work tirelessly to advance the mission and vision of the church. Without proper rest, they can experience mild to severe forms of stress, anxiety, and/or depression. Your generous donations provide leaders with meaningful resources and needed down-time for effective ministry work.
From the minute we stepped in the door we felt welcomed and at ease! The conversations, the hospitality, the gifts, the camaraderie, the laughs, chats around the kitchen island, the food & snacks, etc, etc! It was all such a treat. Getting to know you all was a tremendous blessing. The retreat was like a spa for the soul. Both healing & restoring.
Each of your stories have been on my heart and God has and still are using your stories to impact my life. I’m thankful how God used this retreat to bless my heart and challenge me.
REST Retreats are a 3-day getaway for pastors and ministry leaders to experience Relaxation, Encouragement, Spiritual Development, and Transformation.
Your donations allow our events to be cost-free to pastors and ministry leaders – including lodging, meals, leisure activities, and more.

The Value of Rest
A musical rest is a pause where specific musicians play nothing. Rests are an important part of the music. Music is a constant pulse of the beat and the melody — a rest in the music indicates a period of intentional and meaningful pause.
When listening to music, most people do not notice the intentional moments of silence. The senses are more focused on the things happening in the music — such as the lyrics, the beat or the melody. But, silence is just as important as sound. Silence provides relief and builds anticipation. Without rest at specific and appropriate times, music would lose its quality and meaning.
During a rest, it is important for the musician to remember: prepare your mind, your heart, and your body to play the next measure. Don’t let your mind wander, don’t take your hands off of the instrument. Keep your mind alert and your hands on the keys. Be ready to play whatever follows the rest.
Every pastor and ministry leader must understand that the beat and melody of our life is constant. While the music of our life continues, there must be intentional, appropriate, and meaningful times of rest.
Jesus told His disciples, “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.”
